Ancient Greece

Greek Pottery

Our summer topic is Ancient Greece and we decided to start this topic with a bang!

We all became potters for the day and we even managed to keep the classroom tidy to stop Miss Moore going Potty.

After realising how much hard work it takes to make these pots, we could not believe it when we found out that they were so beautifully decorated afterwards.
We discussed the purpose of the pots and even held some real ancient Greek artefacts. Perhaps we have some budding arts or archaeologists in 6.2!

SPORT RELIEF 2016

We did it !

See below the year 6 champions who managed to complete a mile run in aid of sports relief 2016.
Children each donated £1 to run the fun filled mile.
With chart music blasting and spirits high it was a great day for all.
The children who didn't run supported their peers and teachers from the side lines.
Fabulous fun for a fantastic cause.

World Book Day 2016

World Book Day

6.2 had a fun filled day on 3rd March as
children came to school dressed as their favourite characters. Our whole day was upon The Wizard Of Oz. We wrote setting descriptions, we read part of the book and we even designed the Emerald City.

Children were showing off  their fitness talent and sportsmanship!
Joanne Jackson and her sports for schools team put the children through a circuit of fitness fun.

6.2 (including Miss Moore) had a fantastic healthy morning and are excited to see how much money we have raised for school P.E equipment.

Don't forget to sponsor your child :)

We have so many things to tell you about ...

First things first make sure you come to watch our outstanding Christmas production on Thursday the 17th December !
We have been thinking about others at Christmas time and our class has focused on homeless people.

We have also been doing exciting Christmas activities.
Getting into the Christmas spirit by reading Christmas poems and testing our brains by answering Christmas quizzes.

The most exciting bit for parents however is the amazing cards and calendars we have made in class ! Check out your sneaky peak ! You lucky, lucky things.

Bonfire 2015

Bonfire 2015

In class we learnt the story of the gunpowder plot.

We all now know why we throw 'Guy Fawkes' on the bonfire on November 5th.

We decided to write some Bonfire poetry, using our senses.

Read part of Mustafa's Poem...
Fireworks, fireworks light the fuse,
Lots of matches here to use,
Smell the burning of the blow,
stand back and watch as they glow!

We also had chance to complete some firework Art ! We worked in teams to create the skyline using chalks.

Thank you for reading our Blog !

Diwali 2015

Diwali Festival of Light 2015

Children in 6.2 learnt about the festival and the goddess

Lakshmi

They each had chance to make their very own clay diva lamps.

Some of us even made beautiful celebration cards !

We are sure you agree they are wonderful !

Miss Moore has chosen to display these creations, but they will be coming home soon.

Happy Diwali to all.
